Goals

How to Use Goals in ScatterSpoke

We're all familiar with goals. ScatterSpoke Goals help teams focus and drive improvement.

ScatterSpoke Goals page.

‍

There are two types of Goals in ScatterSpoke:

  • metric, and
  • poll.

Metric Goals are based on an objective metric that can be directly measured. The values for these goals can be captured via an integration or manually reported. Examples include: bug change failure rate, cycle time, mean time to recover, throughput, and velocity.

Poll Goals are based on the subjective evaluation of members of the team and are measured on a scale of 1 to 10. The values for these goals are captured in response to a poll initiated by ScatterSpoke. Examples include: ability to stay in flow, developer satisfaction, eNPS, and quality of meetings.

‍

ScatterSpoke comes with a large library of pre-defined Goals.

ScatterSpoke Goal Library.

‍

Selecting a Goal from the library opens the Goal Setup Window.

Here you set:

  • Target Value,
  • Initial Value (optional), and
  • How to report this goal.

‍

Goals can also be created at higher levels of the organization and cascaded down to teams. Goals created in this manner have an icon in the lower right corner of the card showing where the goal originated from.

You can drill in to see the details of a Goal by selecting the title.
